Oats smoothie

Oats blended with 20 almonds (soaked overnight), 2 Figs, 4 dates. Add Cinnamon and Chia seeds before serving.

Oats are generally considered healthy due to their rich content of several essential nutrients (table). In a 100 gram serving, oats provide 389 calories and are an excellent source (20% or more of the Daily Value, DV) of protein (34% DV), dietary fiber (44% DV), several B vitamins and numerous dietary minerals, especially manganese (233% DV) (table). Dates are a good source of various vitamins and minerals. Its a good source of energy, sugar and fiber. Essential minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, magnesium and zinc are found in dates. It also contains vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, vitamin A and vitamin K.

Dried Figs or Anjeer is rich in dietary fibre. 3 pieces of dried figs contain 5 grams of fibre, which accounts for about 20% of our daily requirement. It’s a natural laxative for preventing constipation and other digestive problems like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Prevents Hypertension, rich in antioxidants, and used as aphrodisiac.
Scientifically, figs improve fertility and libido because they are loaded with minerals like zinc, manganese and magnesium which play an important role in boosting reproductive health.

Preparation Time: 5 mins


Oats – 2 cups, Water
Dates – 4,
Almonds – 20,
Figs – 2,
Flax or Chia seeds (optional) – 1 spoon
Cinnamon Powder – 1 spoon

Method: Add Oats, and water to a grinder, mix it into a paste for 2 mins, add almonds, dates and figs and grind again for another 2 mins. Finally add cinnamon powder, and chia or sunflower or flax seeds.

This breakfast is healthiest – full fiber, vitamins, essential fatty acids and healthy dose of proteins.
